Stories
We come away from retreat having experienced God in awesome ways. We can continue our experience by sharing our stories with each other. Leave your story in the comment box below!
Here is a story that Joe, one of our worship band members shared:
Man, I wish I did this with the guys more often. I know that Gina and our 2 kids Seth and Ciarra had a blast. Seth responded in ways I never thought he would. Hes never been to something like that before. I was just so moved by it all, I would gladly drop everything and do this for a living with these guys if that were ever a reality. Don’t know how that can ever happen but its hard not to dream about it after these weekends. It just broke me to know what a failure I can be and to find myself leading these kids in worship and to see my wife and my 2 kids in front of the stage worshiping and praying and crying along with all those kids. Just broke me. im not there to look cool or be cool, I just want to give those kids what they came for and what they and god deserve. My all.
I really think its cool that the Nazarene church is growing so much. ive never been a big fan of denominations, but have respected the purpose of them. they tend to give the visitor a way knowing what to expect when you come in the door and a governing body to make sure nothing cooky happens behind those doors. I was raised in non-denominational church and attend an AG church right now, but would never call myself AG or carry a card for the denomination. I don’t believe in names, just Jesus. But being on the retreats with these kids, there is no difference between us, we are all just followers of Christ worshipping together and the titles and names leave us and we’re just there for 1 goal and I love it. I hope I get other chances to be involved with these retreats with the band because its one of the most fulfilling things I have ever been involved in. I really appreciated Sam and his wife! Such good people
Here’s another short email from an adult who attended:
I went to winter retreat this year and it was one of the best years that I have had at winter retreat. I especially enjoyed the worship services and sermons more than ever. If you see Pastor Sam give him some good feedback. I think they were both the best that I’ve had at the retreat out of all the years I have gone. So thank you all very much for all your efforts.
Now it’s your turn! Starting talking…
