Registration FAQ’s
Rooming Assignments
Rooming assignments will be given upon arrival. To aid us in the process of assigning rooms, it is helpful if you can send your registration forms in as soon as possible. The sooner we receive your forms, the more likely all of your students will be rooming together or near each other.
Age Limits
Students must be in the 6th through 12th grades to participate in Winter Retreat. Adult chaperones must be at least 21 years old. Any adult younger than 21 must have special permission from the directing team to chaperone.
Adult to Student Ratios
Your church should send no more than 1-adult leader (21 or older) for every 5 students. (i.e. 25 students = 5 adults) The only time there should be more than a 1 to 5 ratio would be to insure there was at least one adult per gender. Also, please be sure each adult leader fills out an adult registration form. It is important for emergency situations to have the information contained in the registration forms.
Afternoon Activities
Last year we tried a couple of new activities that we hoped would reach out to more students. This year we have tired to be creative in planning afternoon activities that will engage a broader group of students and adults. New to this year will be a Euchre Tournament where you can challenge your friends in a battle of the minds. Also new, and sure to please the football fans, is a place to watch your favorite NFL playoff teams compete. We figure, there’s enough football fans out there, you might as well bring them all together in fellowship (or to taunt each other, hehe). And of course, we’ll return with the video game truck, basketball, a worship music workshop, a big screen movie, and bowling.
Like last year we will need to limit the number participating in bowling and the worship workshop. For bowling we will take the first 200 people to register. We’re using a different bowling alley but we only have 200 spots available. For the worship workshop we will take the first 20 students who register. There will be no exceptions to these limits.
Remember to have your students and adults choose an activity. This will help us to plan and prepare for the weekend.
